Dr. Cal Meacham (Rex Reason), a noted nuclear scientist, receives parts for a strange alien device: an Interocitor. After building it, he finds himself in communication with Exeter (Jeff Morrow), who beckons him to join a group of scientists who seek to end war. Dr. Meacham is flown by automatic jet airplane to a rural compound with a large mansion and laboratory to meet with a team of international researchers—including his former colleague Dr. Ruth Adams (Faith Domergue). Together with another American scientist, Dr. Carlson (Russell Johnson), Cal and Ruth suspect a sinister motive behind Exeter's actions. They decide to escape the compound, but are attacked by energy beams. Cal and Ruth escape the car and rush to their landing strip, but their plane is brought aboard a flying saucer. Aboard, Exeter apologizes for his actions, and brings the two doctors to his home planet of Metaluna in hopes that they can save his planet from an ongoing war with the Zagons. There, the Metalunan leader, The Monitor, (Douglas Spencer) refuses to let Cal and Ruth work unless they undergo mind control. Together with Exeter, the two doctors must escape Metaluna while under attack.
