When her spaceship is been boarded by the Dark Helmet Man (Mark DeCarlo), Princess Bunhead (Andrea Fears) conceals the weapon plans she stole, plans for the Evil Thumbpire's Death Thumb, with two robots, Prissypeo (Paul Greenberg) and Beeboobeep (Steve Oedekerk). Dark Helmet Man captures the Princess, but the two droids escape to the planet below. It is a bleak desert planet, and before long they are captured by the natives, small hooded creatures. The robots soon meet Loke Groundrunner (Oedekerk) when his Uncle Soondead (David Floyd) purchases them to help around the farm. They escape to the nearby cave of local hermit Oobedoob Benubi (Rob Paulsen) who manages to find a holographic message the Princess stored on Beeboobeep, for Loke. The Princess asks for Benubi to aid the rebel Thumbellion, and Benubi asks Loke to join him, but Loke hesitates, though only long enough to discover his aunt and uncle have been killed by the Thumbpire's stormtroopers. Loke, Oobedoob, and the droids head to the spaceport to find passage off the planet. There, in the Cantina, they meet Hand Duet (Ross Schafer) and his hairy sidekick Crunchy (Jim Jackman) who will fly them to The Death Thumb.
