When the notorious pirate Captain Yellowbeard (Graham Chapman) escapes from prison in search of his buried treasure, he finds that the map has been destroyed after being copied onto the forehead of his son Dan (Martin Hewitt) at birth. This sets off a chase around the globe as the two of them join forces with Dan's mother Betty (Madeline Kahn), his adopted father Lord Percy Lambourn (Peter Cook), and their friend Dr. Gilpin (Michael Hordern) to charter a ship and find their fortune.
