Young bloodhound "Copper" and fox "Tod" are good friends, but Copper's been feeling useless lately. To cheer him up, Tod brings him to the fair, where a musical group of canines called "The Singing Strays" needs a vocal. Copper's latent ability for music comes out, leading him to join up. Unfortunately, this threatens their friendship when Tod feels jealous and lonely after being pretty much ditched.
