Melody Time is a Disney animated film released in 1948 with seven separate segments of short stories set to music. The first segment is "Once Upon a Wintertime" in which Frances Langford sings the title song. A young man tries to impress his girlfriend but thanks go wrong until they are rescued from trouble just in the nick of time. The second segment, "Bumble Boogie", is a jazz piece starring a bumblebee trying to escape a cartoon musical trap, the song is Freddy Martin and His Orchestra. Dennis Day is the narrator for the third segment which tells "The Legend of Johnny Appleseed". Next is "Little Toot", sung by the Andrews Sisters, about a little tugboat who keeps getting into trouble. The fifth segment is called "Trees". Music by Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians shows trees throughout the seasons of the year. In the sixth section of the film, Donald Duck and Jose Carioca learn about the samba in a story called "Blame It on the Samba"; the seventh and final segment is a retelling of the Pecos Bill legend by Roy Rogers and Sons of the Pioneers.
