12-year-old Preston Waters (Brian Bonsall) is tired of his brothers and parents who are always teaching him the value of money. One day, Carl Quigley (Miguel Ferrer), a rich convicted money launderer nearly kills him in a parking lot. Quigley accidentally gives him a blank check. So Preston using his computer makes out the check for one million dollars cash. With the pseudonym of "Macintosh" he starts spending. Quigley wants his money back and sends an employee to collect the money. The police separately attempt to work out the mystery behind 'Macintosh.' Preston comes to the crossroads of learning the lesson that money isn’t everything.
