Jim Henson's Muppets take on another classic story, this time it's Treasure Island the famous pirate novel. Jim Hawkins (Kevin Bishop) is the young man enthralled by the stories that he hears from Billy Bones (Billy Connolly) about his glory days sailing as a pirate in search of Captain Flint's treasure. When Bones is given the Black Spot by a blind pirate, he passes it off to Jim right as he dies. Several pirates soon rush in on the scene trying to recover their map, and Jim and his friends Gonzo and Rizzo are suddenly embroiled in a chase for the treasure. Fozzie Bear is Squire Trelawney who's boat they use to seek the treasure, while Kermit is Captain Abraham Smollett, the ship's captain, and Long John Silver (Tim Curry) is the ship's cook. Miss Piggy plays Benjamina Gunn, Captain Smollett's jilted lover, who eventually helps Jim and the crew save themselves from Long John Silver and the mutinous crew, who all turn out to be pirates, except for Captain Smollett, of course.
