A narrator (Rex Allen) tells the tale about a cougar adopted by loggers in the Pacific Northwest. When Jess Bradley (Ron Brown) discovers an abandoned baby cougar, he takes care of it and names it Charlie (Charlie). Though cougars cannot be domesticated and can revert to the instincts, Jess keeps the big cat with him, convincing his Fiance (Linda Wallace) of the wild animal’s charms. Adorable or not, Jess faces opposition from a local farmer (Jim Wilson) and the Chief Engineer (Lewis Sample) of his logging company. Meanwhile, Charlie finds himself in fights with an old grumpy bear and has run-ins with a Fox Terrier (Chainsaw) among his various playful adventures.
