In this follow up to the classic Herbie the Love Bug, Herbie is living with Tennessee Steinmetz's (Buddy Hackett, from the original Herbie) aunt, who is known as Grandma Steinmetz (Helen Hayes). When a greedy land developer, Alonzo Hawk (Keenan Wynn), wants to get the old firehouse that Mrs. Steinmetz is living in with Herbie and a couple of other lively machines, somebody has to do something. Sending in his nephew Willoughby Whitfield (Ken Berry), with a story that makes Alonzo look like a good guy and Mrs. Steinmetz the bad guy, he tries to get the firehouse. Of course the truth will come out, and Willoughby won't be long on his uncle's side, especially when he meets Nicole Harris (Stefanie Powers), who is Mrs. Steinmetz's granddaughter and avowed enemy to Alonzo Hawk. And who better to save the day then good old Herbie, the amazing Volkswagen?!
