Freaky Friday, a 1976 Disney production about the Andrews family, Annabel (Jodie Foster), Ellen (Barbara Harris), and Mr. Andrews (John Astin), is a tale about walking more than a mile in another person's shoes. After arguing one Friday morning on the 13th of a month, about an incident in which Annabel sees herself as badly misunderstood, and Ellen wishes she had Annabel's freedom to be irresponsible, Ellen and Annabel find themselves in one another's bodies. Annabel finds herself at home cleaning the house, worrying about catering a dinner event for her husband's company. In return, Ellen is at school, attempting to live her daughter's life by playing field hockey and coping with marching band practice. Ellen costs her team greatly in field hockey, and no one can understand how Annabel would do such a thing. In the end, after Mr. Andrews begins to figure things out, after a series of adventures and car chases, just as Annabel and Ellen have truly begun to cooperate in their roles and can empathize with and relate to one another, they are switched back into their own bodies. Their relationship has undergone significant change as a result of the adventure, however.
