Paul (John Furey) it the leader of a group of teenagers who attend a training program for camp counselors at Crystal Lake. He tells the others a scary story over the campfire about Jason Voorhees (Warrington Gillette and Steve Daskawisz) who drowned in the lake as a child. His mother murdered a bunch of young adults a few years previously. The locals believe that Jason is still in the vicinity. A group of the kids go to party in town. While they are away those who stayed behind are stalked and killed by a masked murderer. When they return they find numerous dead bodies and are attacked by a killer masked with a burlap bag. They run into the woods and find an old cabin with even more dead bodies in it. After a tangle with Jason in the cabin, they retreat and are attacked in their own cabin.
