After the debacle of Westworld, new owners are planning a comeback. In the past, androids went haywire and killed guests, but now the owners of a fantasy park plan to re-open their facility with better-controlled robots. To that end Dr. Duffy (Arthur Hill) invites some journalists to tour the new facility with selected guests and report to the public on the new improved conditions. Chuck (Peter Fonda) and Tracy (Blythe Danner) are to report on the new facility, but a diabolical plan may alter their review because they are going to be replaced with duplicate robot reporters. The muckrakers find Harry (Stuart Margolin), a worker hiding in the bowels of Futureworld who spills the beans to stop the nefarious plot, but the dangerous Gunslinger robot (Yul Brynner) is waiting for them.
