Wyatt Earp (James Garner), along with his brothers, Morgan (Sam Melville) and Virgil (Frank Converse), and their good friend Doc Holliday (Jason Robards), who suffers from tuberculosis and also drinks too much, must deal with the McLowerys and Clantons at the OK Corral in a decisive gunfight. Ike Clanton (Robert Ryan) is so bloodthirsty and vengeful that he makes Wyatt as angry as he is, except that Wyatt is a lawman. Holliday hates to see Wyatt’s personality change for the worse, but wants to be by his friend’s side no matter what. There is also a trial, during which Holliday and the Earps are released from any charges against them.
