This film adaption of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous rock opera is a story about the final days of Jesus Christ’s (Ted Neely) life, mainly told through the eyes of those around him. It goes into depth into the mind of Judas Iscariot (Carl Anderson) as he wrestled with his decision to betray Jesus or not. He observes Jesus’ acts, trying to justify what he is doing. It also follows Mary Magdalene (Yvonne Elliman) who is very nervous and confused because the love she feels for Jesus is so different than anything she has ever felt before. The other biblical characters, Pontius Pilate (Barry Dennen) and King Herod (Josh Mostel), along with the disciples all have songs where they show what they are thinking and feeling as well.
