Trinity (Terence Hill), bum and western gunslinger of legendary quickness with the gun, wanders unknowingly into a town in which his brother, Bambino (Bud Spencer), is pretending to be the town's replacement sheriff. The real replacement sheriff was injured by Bambino, equally quick with the gun, shortly after his escape from prison. Bambino now awaits the arrival of members of his former horse thieving gang. Although Bambino is not pleased to see his brother, they team together along with Bambino's gang to fight the efforts of Major Harriman (Farley Granger) who unscrupulously tries to remove a group of Mormon farmers from their land in order to make room for his horses to graze.
