Kenai (Patrick Dempsey) has been enjoying life as a bear with his four-legged adopted brother Koda (Jeremy Suarez), eating all the fish they can find and hibernating in the winter. But when a young woman from Kenai's past appears, life gets a lot more complicated. As a human, Kenai was promised to marry Nita (Mandy Moore), another member of his tribe. But, after seeking his animal guide and deciding to remain a bear, Kenai has left Nita to marry another man. Even so, Nita still has doubts and sets out on her own quest to find Kenai and break their hold on each other's hearts. Can two bears and a woman equal a family? What is the true destiny of Nita and Kenai? And can Koda come to terms with sharing his brother bear?
