Huckleberry Finn (Elijah Wood) is the half literate son of the town drunk. Faced with no prospects Huck decides to escape down the Mississippi River on a raft with an escaped slave named Jim (Courtney B. Vance). Along the way they run into an colorful crew of off the wall characters including, the King (Jason Robards) and the Duke (Robbie Coltrain), two con men who impersonate British royalty to pull off an assortment of cons on the unsuspecting locals they encounter. Susan Wilks (Laura Bundy), the energetic and exciting 12-year-old girl who gives Huck his first kiss. What starts out as a journey of adventure becomes a journey of enlightenment for young Huck.
