Howard Langston (Arnold Schwartzenegger) is a workaholic who spends little time with his wife, Liz (Rita Wilson) and son, Jamie (Jake Lloyd). His next-door neighbor, Ted Maltin (Phil Hartman) is a superdad that Langston can’t aspire to compete with. It’s Christmastime. Jamie wants a Turbo-Man for Christmas. Feeling guilty about not being the dad Maltin is, Langston vows that he will get this toy for his son for Christmas. Unfortunately, it’s the hot toy that year and almost impossible to get. Langston goes on a city-wide quest for the toy and is joined in his competition by another father searching for the same toy, Myron Larabee (Sinbad). Time passes with the men having no luck in their quest. Finally both take jobs as stuntmen in a department store parade in a last-ditch effort to obtain a Turbo-Man. Langston, dressed as a live-action Turbo Man, gets a doll at last and presents it to his son. When Jamie learns that his dad is the live Turbo Man, he gives the doll to Larabee saying that his dad is his hero now. Too bad Howard forgot to get Liz a Christmas present!
