After moving to a new town, Josh Framm (Kevin Zegers) can’t find the courage to join the middle school basketball team – that is, until he meets Bud, a golden retriever who loves playing basketball as much as he does. Josh joins the team, and Bud moves up from being the team mascot to a bona fide player when it’s discovered there’s no rule against a dog playing. In no time, Josh and Bud are the stars of the court. Accomplished stage actor Michael Jeter also appears as Norman Snively, Bud’s former owner who tries to cash in on his success.
