On an ordinary night in California in 1957, Ted Lewis (Eric McCormack) is busy preparing an anniversary dinner for his wife Lana (Jody Thompson). On the other side of town, waitress Tammy (Jenni Baird) is excited to see a shooting star, and hopes that it is a sign of good things to come for her. What neither of them know is that the shooting star they thought they saw was actually an alien spaceship, which ends up crash landing nearby. When alien Urp emerges from the crash, he is shocked to discover that Ghota, another alien on board, has escaped. Knowing that Ghota's violence and insatiable appetite could mean bad things for civilization, Urp knows he must find Ghota as soon as possible. Urp is forced to take over Ted's body, and with the assistance of Tammy, the only one who will believe Urp's story, they begin to search. Will they be able to find Ghota before it's too late?
