Seth Brundle, in an accident involving a teleportation experiment, merged himself with a common housefly. He begins to mutate into a human/ fly creature, but is killed before he can merge with the woman he loves and his unborn child. His child, Martin (Eric Stoltz), infused with the human/fly mutated genes, was born in an insect egg-sac, killing his mother during childbirth. Brundle’s experiments had been funded by Anton Bartok (Lee Richardson) of Bartok Industries, who now claims ownership of Martin and plans to use him to further his father’s experiments. Martin finds out that Bartok is continuing the terrible experiments on innocent creatures, and he also finds out that he can remove the fly genes from his body by transferring them to another human. Can he stop Bartok and save himself and the girl he loves, Beth (Daphne Zuniga), before he transforms completely into a murderous insect?
