The coastal town of Antonio Bay is about to celebrate their centennial. But as the festivities draw near, so does a strange fog. The first to notice something odd about the fog is Stevie Wayne (Adrienne Barbeau) the lady DJ that has her late night radio station in an old lighthouse. Stevie senses something wrong and tries to warn the town. The problem isn't with the fog but what's within it. Something, or someone, in the fog is trying to kill the townsfolk. Nick (Tom Atkins), Elizabeth (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Kathy (Janet Leigh) become trapped in the church with Father Malone (Hal Holbrook). Only then does the pastor reveal the hidden history of the town's founding fathers.
